Superior Genetics. Better Service. Lower Prices.
Taylor Nursery is proud to introduce two premium loblolly blends this year – ELITE and SUPERIOR – both offering exceptional volume gain, fusiform rust resistance and form improvement. Composed of the very best selections from our third-cycle loblolly seed orchards, these blends represent the latest in genetic improvement from 60 years of our tree-breeding efforts. The Elite blend offers 8 percent additional volume growth to the already outstanding Superior blend.

* PRS=Performance Rating System
P = Productivity Rating
R = Rust Resistance
S = Straightness
Because of the high level of genetic variation in loblolly pine, the NCSU Cooperative Tree Improvement Program,
of which the South Carolina Forestry Commission is a member, developed the Loblolly Pine Performance
Rating System ( PRS™) as a service to landowners, nursery managers, the tree improvement community and
loblolly pine breeders. PRS™ also stands for Productivity, Rust, and Straightness, the three traits evaluated in all
genetics trials. The PRS™ expresses the genetic potential of a family for stem volume production, resistance to
fusiform rust disease, stem straightness.
For more information, visit www.treeimprovement.org/prs. PRS sheets can be downloaded at www.trees.sc.gov/nur.htm.

** Improved Longleaf Pine seedlings are from seed collected from our Longleaf seed orchard at Niederhof Forestry Center.
