Market Conditions
Prices for all three pine products (pulpwood, chip-n-saw, and sawtimber) increased during the last quarter with chip-n-saw and sawtimber showing significant gains. Hardwood pulpwood prices decreased during early 2015 following a peak in mid-2014. Hardwood sawtimber showed a modest reduction in price during the first quarter of 2014, but still remained nearly $4.00 per ton higher than early 2014 and continues to be higher than pine sawtimber.
